Orange County Region's 2009 Holiday Party Rocks!
Jingle bells were swinging and jingle bells were ringing at the annual FCC Orange County Holiday Party! It wasn’t snowin’ in Mission Viejo, but the event was blowin’ up bushels of fun for more than 30 families attending the December 6 event.
The jingle hop had begun with a dance soundtrack playing throughout most of the party. The kids who weren’t dancing were making projects and new friends at the crafts table. Families generously piled a mountain of donated gifts in one corner of the spacious room for the Orangewood Foundation, benefiting OC children and teens in foster care.
Jingle bells chimed in jingle bell time as the crowd enjoyed a great potluck dinner. FCC provided turkey, ham and vegetarian lasagna, with the rest of the spread brought in by each family. Dancin’ and prancin’ in Jingle Bell Square continued after dinner with caroling accompanied on guitar by the talented Teri Sforza and percussion by all the kids, and many of the adults!
In the frosty air, as guests departed the Norman P. Murray Center, all agreed it had been a bright time and the right time to rock the night away!
Many thanks to this year’s event planners Jenifer Weigand and Teri Sforza, and to all the volunteers who helped with set-up and clean-up. That’s the jingle bell rock!
