Pact, An Adoption Alliance

Pact, a nonprofit organization begun by two adoptive parents in 1991, offers extensive post-placement opportunities for all families raising children of color (same-race, transracial, international, transcultural, etc.), providing informative and essential education, connection and support. Pact's comprehensive site addresses issues for adopted children of color, offering informative articles on related topics as well as profiles of triad members and their families, links to other internet resources, and a book reference guide with a searchable database and much more.

FAIR - Families Adopting in Response

Through its all-volunteer organization FAIR offers information, education, support and fellowship to adoptive and preadoptive families. The link to FAIR provides an extensive list of adoption-related websites.

KAAN:  Korean American Adoptee Adoptive Family Network

“KAAN's mission is to support networking and build understanding among Adoptees, Adoptive Families, Koreans And Korean Americans.”  The website provides numerous links to resources for adoptees and parents.  KAAN also organizes an annual conference with programs for children, teens and adults.

Joint Council on International Children’s Services

North American Council on Adoptable Children (NACAC)

NACAC’s mission is to promote and support permanent families for children and youth in the U.S. and Canada who have been in care – especially those in foster care and those with special needs.  NACAC focuses on “public policy advocacy, parent leadership capacity building, education and information sharing, and adoption support.”  NACAC hosts a multi-day adoption education conference each summer.  The website offers numerous publications relevant to transracial, international adoptive families and to parents coordinating support networks (http://www.nacac.org/parentgroups/resources.html).
