Our FCC-SoCal family will gather to celebrate the 2013 Moon Festival on Sunday, September 22 at the Ten Ten Seafood Restaurant in Artesia. Festivities will include games and prizes, traditional Chinese entertainment and great food, including mooncakes.
This annual event is organized by the Orange County regional group, but FCC-SoCal families from all regions are encouraged to attend. Artesia's location at the intersection of the 91 and 605 freeways makes it easily accessible from Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino and Riverside Counties.
The Moon Festival, also known as the Mid-Autumn Festival (Zhongqiu Jie) is one of China's biggest holidays in its importance for families to come together and celebrate. It has its roots in the Shang dynasty tradition of moon worship, and is held at a time of the year when the moon is at its fullest, signaling a time of completeness and abundance.
