The little artists who attended the FCC November Art Making Workshop at the Heritage Park Regional Library in Irvine on Sunday, November 1, created beautiful drawings of Chinese lanterns, mandalas, dragons and butterflies.

They were introduced to Chinese brush painting and oil pastels by artist Melanie Vogel.  Melanie brought to Sunday's session 14 years of experience teaching art to children in the Fullerton schools and as director of the Cal State Fullerton Children's Summer Art Camp since 2002.

The best part of this art-making event, was seeing the pride on all of the young faces as they viewed their masterpeices. And of course the parents didn't mind chatting while the kids were having their class.

The drawings were sent to Original Artworks who will create keepsakes and Christmas gifts for the families who attended. A big thank you to Orange County FCC-SoCal member Barbara Grattan for organizing such a wonderful event.
