Each June, FCC-SoCal celebrates the end of another school year and kicks off the summer with its annual picnic. The tradition began several years ago when the Greater Los Angeles chapter of the Organization of Chinese Americans invited FCC families to join in their annual event, held in the San Gabriel Valley. In 2009, FCC-SoCal assumed the lead host role.
Over the years, FCC and OCA families and friends have enjoyed barbequing burgers and hot dogs, devouring dumplings, chowing down chow fun and chicken and sharing good company along with the good food. Everyone, from toddlers to grandparents, has fun creating crafts, blowing giant bubbles, playing field games and competing in the annual water balloon toss and donut eating contests.
